Michael Lafia is a community-focused professional with a lifelong interest in athletics, culture, and service. Originally from Michigan, Lafia grew up in a sports-driven environment that shaped his interest in teamwork, leadership, and competition from an early age.

Michael Lafia attended Yale University, where he studied American Studies with a concentration in American culture. During his time at Yale, Lafia competed as a college football player, gaining valuable experience in leadership, discipline, and collaboration. The Ivy League experience helped shape Lafia’s appreciation for education, athletics, and the cultural role sports play in American life.

After completing his undergraduate degree, Michael Lafia continued his education at the University of Nevada, Las Vegas Boyd School of Law, where he earned his Juris Doctor. His academic journey combined the historic academic tradition of Yale with the practical legal training and professional environment of UNLV.

Throughout his education, Lafia developed a strong interest in civic engagement, community involvement, and leadership. His experiences in athletics and academics have continued to influence his approach to both professional life and community participation.
